03/11/2010    Chairman's Update Tue March 9th
Hello Everyone

Fixtures

Loads of activity on the football front this week. There are some great double headersTomorrow Under 16 double at home from 6.45, and on Sunday Morning a crucial Feile match at 10.30 followed at 11.45 with Minor Football.

Note that the Aldridge Cup match is now refixed for this Thursday at home at 8pm. A victory assures us a semi final slot.

I dont normally mention the others but this week I have to mention the Salesians Soccer team that is in the All Ireland Final this Thursday. Many of our lads are involved and I wish them all the bestdont forget to be back for the minor match at the weekend!!

Golf

Our first outing of the year takes place this Saturday at 12.30 in Portnarnock Links under Captain Tom Donovan. Please contact Mary O`Connell if you wish to play. You would be most welcome.

Survey

If you have not completed the recent survey issued by Tony McDonagh, can you please do so by the weekend.

Thanks also to those who filtered thro their ideas/ priorities regarding infrastructural development. Many well thought out ideas came through. Pat White is doing a great job putting these together.

The most pressing need identified is for extra dressing rooms. We are therefore urgently looking at some cost effective proposals and we expect to move on this within a matter of weeks. We will keep you posted.

Events

Please support some of the great events coming upSt Patrick`s Day Family Ceili, Luke Kelly on 27th, Nob Nation on 10th April, and X Factor later in April.

Note that the next Disco for Under Age is next Tuesday 16th March. Volunteers needed and most welcome.

Regards

Willie

03/06/2010    Underage Fundraiser
Folks

As part of the clubs fundraising drive, the underage section are running a prediction competition. The format is simple, predict the correct score in either football or hurling club final on St Patricks Day for 2 and if correct you could win 200.

We are asking for each of your support to sell lines and help distribute cards through your teams and other contacts.

The idea of this fundraiser is that at 2 per line it is not an onerous financial burden on anyone, but it is really important that everyone gets involved to distribute cards and sell lines. This initiative is across the entire club, so we are looking for all codes to get involved.

Aidan Hosty has done most of the work on this and will be in the clubhouse bar tonight from 9pm. Please come along for five minutes and take some cards. Many hands will make light work on this, and it is vital that managers get involved so we can distribute through your teams.

Many thanks in advance for your support.

Simon

Stars of the present will be aflame in next Wednesday’s All-Ireland Final between Ballyhale Shamrocks and Portumna. Even the thought of it is a strop for anticipation. As Christy O’Connor put it in these pages: “It is big, really big.” Also in this edition a close-up of hurling in Kildare and an interview with our own, county senior hurling captain, Tony Murphy.

12/03/2010    Underage News
Hi all

St. Patrick's Day afternoon Ceili 3.30 - 5-30 PM.

Please note this year's Ceili is on in the afternoon as there is no Parade in Celbridge. Join us for a great family fun event!

On the field

A lot of football leagues now up and running, so plenty of games on. After a good win last Sunday our Feile A team have a crunch game this Sunday at 10.30am home to Maynooth. Come along and support them if you can.

Equipment

Most of the new equipment has arrived and been distributed to managers. The first batch of hurleys have arrived and the remainder will be delivered in installments over the coming weeks.

Registrations

Deadline has now passed and all registrations should be in. Players who are not registered are not entitled to play matches. David Power is calculating the referees fund to be distributed to each manager, but will only be able to pass on the money once all players for a team are registered.

Coaching Course

This week we had 15 people complete the foundation course in football coaching organised by Mick Carney. Well done to all.

Prediction Competition

Please support the predict the score competition we have running on the All Ireland Club finals organised by Aidan Hosty. Cards should be returned to the bar before St Patricks Day.

Best Regards
Simon
