10/02/2010    Be Our Valentine
Annual Adult Valentine night in Celbridge GAA on Sat. 13th from 9.00. Complimentary glass of wine, finger food and music. Everybody very welcome

07/02/2010    Check your Attic !!!!!!
As part of the equipment process we are trying to ensure that all football teams up to U9's have full sets of coloured bibs. To minimise the amount that need to be purchased we are trying to make sure that we cascade as many down as possible from older teams where they may now be too small or no longer used.

1) Can you have a look at home or in the shed/attic and see are there any bibs that you could pass down. Please let Tom or myself know if you have anything.

2) If you have requested new bibs as part of the current audit then let us know if you have old bibs that can be passed down.

3) We are interested in any bibs not just full sets, so if you have individual or partial sets then let us know also.

Thanks
Simon

06/02/2010    Underage Update
Hi all

We had a very successful registration day last Saturday! 340 registrations, up 38% on last year. 160 parents code of conduct forms signed. 66 reusable hurleys collected as part of the recycling initiative as well as helmets, jerseys and a first aid kit! Garda Vetting forms distributed to managers and mentors. And a number of sign ups to the Vodafone offer to boot. Thanks to all involved before, during and afterwards....you know who you are! Managers are now following up on the remaining registrations. Absolute deadline is end February.

Equipment

All audits are in and Tom has amalgamated them. We have recycled across teams where possible and also allocated the recycled hurleys from registration day. We hope to have approval to start ordering the new equipment required from next week.

Valentines Event - February 13th

For all you romantics out there!?...promises to be a good one. Celine and I will be there and would love some company from the underage section!

On the field

More challenges this week include the U14 Camogie girls hosting St Judes on Saturday morning and the U12 hurlers hosting St Sylvesters on Sunday afternoon.

Garda Vetting

All forms should be completeted by February 14th and left in the box behind the bar. All managers, mentors and officers must be Garda vetted. I have some copies for anyone that missed registration day.

Best Regards
Simon

31/01/2010    Under 9 Football
Training for under 9 football - boys and girls - takes place TUESDAYS between 5 and 6 indoors

29/01/2010    Underage Update
Underage Registration Day

Saturday 3pm-5pm. See email from earlier this week for details.

Awards Night
To night. See you there!

Equipment

All equipment audits forms have been returned to our Underage Vice Chairman - Tom O'Halloran thank you. We will review the totals next week and advise from there. Some paring is likely to be required but I hope we can accommodate most requests. Hopefully our equipment and jersey recycling will help in meeting some of our needs.

Tom has also set up a locker for shared underage equipment: poles, tackle bags, hurdles, ladders. Tom has emailed managers directly on procedures for use.

Training Schedules

Having completed the indoor hall schedule, Tom has now moved on to creating an outdoor training schedule. Please come back to him with your training times to allow us to complete it. This is to ensure we have adequate space to accommodate all.

On the field

Early season friendlies are underway. Our under 15 footballers had a pipe-opener when hosting St Judes last Sunday. Our U12 hurlers play Lucan Sarsfields on their new all weather pitch on Friday night while our U14 camogie girls host Crumlin on Saturday morning.

Meetings

There were North Board and Bord na Nog meetings this week. Hugh Gallagher attended the North Board meeting and will be joined from next month by Aidan Hosty who has kindly volunteered to be our North Board Hurling rep. Pat Byrne attended the Bord na Nog meeting and we hope to have company for Pat from next month from the football side.

In club meetings were held this week by Mick Carney for the football managers and mentors and Pat Byrne on the hurling side. Its very positive to see so much in the way of communication, coordination and cooperation going on.

There was a code of ethics course on in Sallins on Monday night but due to the late notice no-one was able to attend. We will ensure another course is arranged shortly with proper notice this time.

Underage Committee

I'm delighted that Billy Wall, George Kellett and Mick Mullen have all agreed to join our underage committee going forward adding further strength and coverage. Thanks lads.

Schools Coaching

This is ongoing with senior players from our club coaching in all of the four main primary schools. Conor Brophy has now taken over in Scoil na Mainstreach from Daragh McEvoy.

Best Regards
Simon
