Played on a lovely April spring evening Celbridge were unlucky not to come away with anything out of this game. Fiona Lannigan opened the scoring after 4 minutes with a fine point. Incredibly there was to be no further scoring for the next fifteen minutes, until Grainne Martin equalised with a free, when Anna Gallagher was harshly penalised for pushing. Celbridge responded instantly when Michelle O'Dwyer found space on the right side of the attack and squared a lovely long range pass to Fiona Lannigan who buried the ball in the Clane net. Our Junior team stormed into the semifinals of the Div 1B League following a great win over oldrivals St Laurence's in Hazelhatch on Sunday evening, April 24th. This team have being lethal in front of goal this season, and they supplied 7 more on Sunday, to finish on top of the table. Hugh Gallagher’s charges are now rewarded with a home semi against Johnstownbridge on Sunday, May 15th.
