Code of Ethics/Behavior Course and Garda Vetting

Written by PRO. Posted in News

It is essential that anyone working with young people ( under 18 years of age )  in our club attends the Code of Ethics/Behavior Course and is Garda Vetted.

This includes all mentors, their team helpers, underage referees, disco helpers and anybody in contact with young people in our club.

-- What to do next?  --

If you have not attend this course or are not Garda Vetted, please reply to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ASAP so we can arrange your attendance.

Below is an excerpt from the Kildare County Children's officer report from last month.

PLEASE let me know if you need to do the Code of Ethics/Safeguarding 1 Basic Awareness - Child Protection in Sport (formerly referred to Code of Best Practice).

I am hoping to run another course before Christmas for anyone who has not done it.

It will be run over 1 evening usually  7:00pm to 10:30pm with a break in between.

Thanks

"Legislation such as Children First comes into being before the end of this year.  This Bill passed through Dáil Éireann during the summer and will, in all probability, pass all stages of the Houses of the Oireachtas by November.  This  will require any person involved with underage / vulnerable adults to be Garda Vetted and appropriately trained BEFORE they work with children. Will your club be ready?" Pauline McBride Kildare County CO
