We finished our GAA Summer Camp on Friday 18th of August and treated all the kids to a barbecue. The week was very successful and we were blessed with the good weather. We had 100 children attending the camp over the 5 days and by all accounts they had a ball.
We managed to make some extra money for the club and this will be used to further improve our facilities. We had 24 to 27 helpers assisting Ian Power with the camp and Ian was very happy the way everything went. Much gratitude and appreciation to Ian Power who gave up 5 days to run this camp.
We would like to thank Noel Shaw for his assistance all week, and for helping out with the barbecue and thanks to the ladies who came up on Friday. Mairead and Becky O'Rian helped with bbq. Ronan Lynch, Sean O'Rian and Brendan McGrath gave up time and made a big impression with their mentoring skills. Camogie PRO, Eileen Goold, took & posted the pictures from the camp during the week & kept us updated.
Stars of the show were the young coaches who kept the kids occupied with the expert coaching and the fun games
We had a number of people asking if there was a camp at Halloween, and it looks very likely that there will be. Hopefully nearer the time we will be in a position to give more details.
