The Kildare u16 Camogie team travelled to Stradone on Sat July 25th, to play Cavan, in what was effectively an All Ireland quarter final, with the victors securing a place in the semis.
We presently have 6 Celbridge girls on the panel and they showed how important they are during this match.
Firstly Eilish Mahon was on hand to fire home Kildare's first goal, to keep the Lilies in contention against a strong Cavan team, and when Kildare found themselves 6 points down going into the final ten minutes, the other Celbridge star Anna Gallagher
lived up to her role of team Captain, by scoring a goal and two points for Kildare to help edge her team to a one point victory.
With Ciara Naughton, who has being putting in sterling performances all year keeping it tight at the back and Clare Fitzmaurice, Aoife Kearney and Saoirse Flattery also adding invaluable support. The Celbridge girls are really showing there worth.
Well done to all the girls.
