The weather was wonderful and everyone enjoyed the Barbecue after.

Congratulations to the U6/5 girls who turned out for Celbridge to play in the blitz hosted by Carbury today. Everybody put in a great effort against Cappagh and Broadford who fielded teams of mostly U7's. Considering Celbridge were playing against mainly older girls, they did fantastically and should be very proud. They struck the ball really well and defended superbly. They had some great passages of play, with good passing and girls running to meet the ball. We scored some great goals in both our matches against stiff opposition. All the girls did their very best - a big Bualadh Bos to everyone today. Keep up the hard work and great attitude!
There will be no training this coming Friday 18th. Next training will be Friday 25th April.
Happy Easter and enjoy the hols.!

Celbridge played host to the first U6 blitz of the year on 30th March. We had a great turn out of girls and fielded 2 teams - 8 girls on one team and 7 on the other and played two teams from Maynooth. We also had an U7 team who played two matches against Clane.
U6
Team 1: Played two fantastic matches against very competitive teams from Maynooth. All the girls got stuck in straight away running on to the ball and worked very hard to make some great scores. For such young girls they all showed great ability, skill and determination - a great prospect for the future! Everybody including the girls, mentors and parents really enjoyed it and had a great day. We look forward to our next blitz.
Team 2: Played two very good games against Maynooth. From the beginning the girls were making great passes and blocking the ball. We scored some great goals and equally defended very well and saved some goals too. Everyone was very proud of the effort the girls put in. We are looking forward to the next blitz
U7
Well done to the under 7's (and a few U6's) who played in their first U7 blitz. They all had wonderful games and everyone worked so hard. We hope everyone enjoyed it and for many it was your first proper game and everyone did great.
The first game started cautiously but by half time everyone was well up to speed against a strong Clane team. By full time all the girls were working very hard and came right back at Clane with everyone putting in 100%.
The second game was exceptionally good and everyone would agree that both teams played fantastically all over the field so watch out, this is going to be a great team for the future! Well done to all.
Thanks to all the mentors, parents, players and referees.
Training Friday 5.30-7.00 Camogie and Football.
Niamh, Aileen and Ann.
